A Key Supply Bridge for Russia has been Destroyed by Ukraine
The Antonivskyi Bridge has been a key supply route for Russian operations in southern Ukraine...
The Ukrainian military has succeeded in delivering a massive blow to the Russian offensive by taking out a bridge Russia has been using to supply forces in southern Ukraine. Antonivskyi Bridge, which crosses the Dnieper River, has been struck leaving holes in the deck that will prevent vehicles from crossing the route. Previous attacks have damaged the bridge already and now it has been closed off for trucks.
United States-supplied HIMARS has been used to target the bridge, according to Ukrainian officials. Nataliya Gumenyuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Southern Command, references the strikes as “surgical.” HIMARS has a longer range, better precision, and a faster fire rate.
The inability to cross the bridge will only serve as a slight dent in the Russian military’s motives as the loss will make it hard for the Russian military to keep supplying its forces in the region amid repeated Ukrainian attacks.
