A third of Americans Believe Acceptance of Transgender Identity has gone too Far

The number of Americans saying that the country has gone too far in promoting and accepting the identities of transgender people is increasing according to new data recorded in a poll released today by NBC News. The poll found that a third of Americans claim that society has gone too far in accepting transgender identities. Another third claims the country has not gone far enough to end the discrimination against the transgender community.
Another quarter of people says that the country has reached a reasonable balance.
The last NBC News poll has shown that there has been a 10-point drop in those claiming there is more work to be done to end the discrimination in the transgender community. In the 2021 survey, in which NBC News asked similar questions, 26% of Americans said the country has gone too far and 38% said we need to do more to improve the treatment and the acceptance of those within the transgender community.
The poll was held between May 5-7 and 9-10 and surveyed nearly 1,000 adults.
In recent months, transgender policies have been a hot topic. Nearly two dozen House Republicans have sent a letter to the DOH arguing against the newly unveiled transgender policy of no longer using “gender-based” Advanced Imaging Technology to screen airline passengers. The goal of the DOH is to improve the "customer experience of travelers who previously have been required to undergo additional screening due to alarms in sensitive areas."
The country is still unrest about the whole acceptance of transgender individuals as well. The most recent situation is three teenage boys in Wisconsin facing charges of sexual harassment - potentially - as they were accused of using the wrong gender pronoun. In my opinion, this one is a complete garbage argument, but to each their own.
"(The investigating principal) said he’s being allegedly charged with sexual harassment for not using proper pronouns. I thought it wasn’t real. I thought this has got to be a gag, a joke - one has nothing to do with the other."
One of the parents said.
Me too Karen, me too. However, the poll does indicate that a great percentage of individuals feel as if the belief that these ideologies are being forced down our throats. I personally don’t care as long as it doesn’t directly affect me, but others have opinions and I guess we need to take ALL into account…
