According to U.S. Congresswoman Susie Lee, the overturning of Roe v. Wade was a "Favor" for Democrats fighting for Re-Election
However, it seems jumping on the strategy to push the abortion issue isn't working as well as planned...
One of the United States Congress members currently in danger of losing her re-election, Susie Lee has spent this year strictly fighting for re-election as President Biden and some other Democrats are hit by the disapproval surrounding the party. However, the Nevada congresswoman claims that when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, they did the Democrats a favor.
Susie Lee took television just a day later spending $500,000 on a digital attack against her pro-life Republican opponent with the hopes that the issue of abortion will push voters to vote and reverse the impending doom of the Democratic party come midterms.
Like many of the Democratic nominees fearful they will lose re-election or first-time elections, Susie Lee is refocusing her campaign efforts on the issues that actually matter. Due to what has been deemed as weak messaging by the party leaders, Democratic nominees are saying the overturning of Roe v. Wade has sparked a “new fight.”
Democratic strategists and analysts have warned that the issue of abortion will not be enough by itself to save the Democrats come November. A Democratic pollster, Brian Stryker, said national opinion surveys still indicate inflation “is still far and away voters' top concern." Another political analyst, Kyle Kondik, said he can understand why Democrats jumped on the strategy, however, he also said “it's not clear to me it's moving the needle a ton."
