Air Fares aren't High. They're just returning to Normal says United Airlines CEO
This upcoming summer is set to have a record amount of travelers as Covid restrictions ease...
United Airlines CEO, Scott Kirby, claims ticket prices aren’t inflated, they’re just headed back to normal. This may be true, but it certainly doesn’t help as travelers currently struggle with sticker shock. Data shows this upcoming summer will have exceeding amounts of individuals looking to travel through the air as Covid restrictions begin to ease.
Scott Kirby also mentioned that there is “not a hint of evidence” that rising ticket prices are hurting consumer demand. However, more data shows more people than expected are skipping out on travel due to price inflation in gasoline as well as plane ticket prices…
"We're just back to normal pricing. It feels like high pricing today because we're comparing to an artificial low coming off the pandemic."
Scott Kirby told the Bernstein Conference.
