Biden Breaks through the 40s in Approval Ratings
Coming off of a great week for Democrats, Biden's approval ratings have been increasing for three weeks now...
Riding off of a week of great news and great performance, President Joe Biden’s approval ratings have risen and broken through the 40% range marking the highest level since early June. A two-day poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos found that 40% of Americans now approve of President Biden’s work in the office. Even as this is a jump from previous polls, it remains a historically low approval rating.
This isn’t an “out of nowhere” jump either. Biden’s approval ratings have been rising for the last three weeks. Some will credit the upswing of approval ratings to the Senate approving the massive Inflation Reduction Bill that will fight climate change, raise some corporate taxes, and also reduce prescription drug prices. Also, another bill was signed today by Biden: the CHIPS Act which provides subsidies for the United States semiconductor production.
78% of those polled identifying as Democrats approve of President Biden as of now which is up from 69% last month. 12% of those identifying as Republican approve currently. The poll was conducted with responses from 1,005 adults made up of 445 Democrats and 357 Republicans. The credibility interval is sitting at 4%.
