Closer relations between South Korea and China were pledged today in an attempt to maintain stable industrial supplies. Many are concerned as top South Korean and Chinese diplomats are ironing out an agreement during a time of a developing rivalry between China and the United States.

In separate statements, Foreign Ministers Park Jin and Wang Yi claim no indication of discussions surrounding Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. However, both ministers called for the development of relations based on a successful three-decade-old commercial tie.

Yoon Suk Yeol, the South Korean President, has claimed he wishes to improve security ties with the United States as well as Japan due to the recent North Korean nuclear threats. Outside of security ties, President Yoon Suk Yeol and Ministers Park and Wang reiterated their wishes to increase/maintain industry supply chains. Minister Park also expressed the hope that there will be future cooperation surrounding “universal values and standards.”
