Cody Briseno tried to go after the Uvalde Shooter but Officers held him Back...
Cody Briseno said he has helped bury five children who died at that day, including a cousin..
One of the first people to encounter the gunman of the Uvalde shooting was Cody Briseno, a funeral attendant working right across the street from the site of the school shooting on May 24th.

Being a sensible human, and an absolute hero in the sense of the word, Cody rushed over to help after the shooter’s pickup crashed outside of the elementary school, but fled after seeing the 18-year-old with an “evil look” and handling an AR-15-like weapon.
In Cody Briseno’s interview with NBC News, he describes the encounter and how he was prepared to charge the shooter after his wife brought him his gun, but was held back by arriving officers and those who were already there.
When Briseno started his march toward the school, an officer yelled "Hey, what are you doing?” and Briseno responded, "I'm going to go in and try to stop them."
This news comes as the police who responded to the attack (keep in mind it was an attack lasting a ridiculous 77 minutes) are receiving national criticism. They delayed their confrontation.
Briseno recounts telling the officers the shooter was already inside, “I told him that he’s already inside the school,” Briseno said. He said the officer told him to stay back and shut up.
