Tesla Reporting Earnings on 4/20 just feels Right
Humorously, Tesla is set to announce Q1 financial results today which happens to be the biggest meme day except for election day in the U.S. Some of the key factors to watch:
Production and Delivery: Tesla confirmed that it delivered just over 310,000 electric vehicles during the first three months of the year.
Revenue: Wall Street consensus in Q1 is $17.659 Billion and Estimize predicts a higher revenue of $17.866 Billion.
EPS: Wall Street consensus is a gain of $2.26 per share while Estimize’s prediction is higher with a profit of $2.542 per share.

Moderna claims their new Covid Vaccine offers Stronger Immunity against Omicron
Moderna released clinical data demonstrating that a new version of its Covid-19 vaccine that targets several mutations produced a stronger immune response against the major virus variants, including omicron and delta than the company’s current shots. Moderna is also developing a vaccine that targets 32 mutations present in omicron.
The FDA is debating whether the U.S. will need updated Covid shots ahead of an expected wave of infection in the fall.
Saudi Economic Growth to Double this Year on High Oil Prices
High oil prices will push Saudi Arabia’s economy into the high-growth mode, more than doubling this year, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which raised its growth forecast for the Kingdom yesterday. While much of this was attributed to multi-year-high oil prices, the IMF has also noted growth and expected further growth in non-oil revenues.
The IMF is targeting 7.6% growth for the Saudi economy this year, raising its forecast by 2.8%.
A Capital Economics report has Saudi oil production rising to 10.3 Million barrels per day in March, for 26.7% year-on-year growth, which is classified as the fastest rate of growth for the kingdom in nearly two decades.
Capital Economics forecasts the Saudi economy will grow by 10% this year and by 5.3% in 2023.
Netflix Stumbles on Earnings
Netflix was down nearly $90 after hours on a bloodbath produced by earnings. Revenue flopped terribly as they reported $8.05 Billion which missed estimates of $8.21 Billion. On the bloodbath, shorts made more than $600 Million since market close.
On the outlook, the CEO stated they have tested ways to stop password sharing for 2 years and that they are still planning to charge users that share accounts across multiple households. It is estimated that subscriptions are being shared with more than 100 million households who are not paying
And the ultimate market shifter, Elon Musk, tweeted that the ‘Woke Mind Virus’ is making Netflix unwatchable.
