Donald Trump has made it known in a statement that he has told CNN he would be filing a defamation lawsuit against the news outlet for its refusal to back his discredited claims that election fraud was the reason for him losing the 2020 presidential election.

“I have notified CNN of my intent to file a lawsuit over their repeated defamatory statements against me. I will also be commencing actions against other media outlets who have defamed me and defrauded the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud throughout the 2020 election.”
Donald Trump said.

“Accordingly, I hereby demand on behalf of President Donald Trump that CNN (1) immediately take down the false and defamatory publications, (2) immediately issue a full and fair retraction of the statements identified herein in as conspicuous a manner as they were originally published, and (3) immediately cease and desist from its continued use of ‘Big Lie’ and ‘lying’ when describing President Trump’s subjective belief regarding the integrity of the 2020 election,”
Trump’s letter to CNN said.

The scheme to overturn the 2020 election has been continuously investigated by the House select committee investigating the January 6th Capitol Riots. Evidence has been put in the forefront that shows members of the Trump administration and even his family members have said that the outcome of the 2020 election was nothing concerning fraud.

Republicans who were close to Trump also testified to show that Trump pursued an attempt for overturning the election with help from state lawmakers. As of February, there have been 42 separate lawsuits filed by Donald Trump and he has lost all of them. Last year he did however win a case in Wisconsin.
