According to a new report from the Washington Post, Donald Trump is struggling to find a “good lawyer” who will represent him. Several lawyers have spoken to the Post under anonymity and claimed "Everyone is saying no.”
Multiple lawyers voiced their opinion on the difficulties they would face while working with Donald Trump. During his Presidency, he would Tweet about the Mueller probe which went against the advice of his legal team. Also, some lawyers went as far as to deem Donald Trump as an “impossible client.”
"In olden days, he would tell firms representing him was a benefit because they could advertise off it. Today it's not the same. He's also a very difficult client in that he's always pushing the envelope, he rarely listens to sound legal advice, and he wants you to do things that are not appropriate, ethically or legally.”
Michael Cohen a former Donald Trump lawyer, said.
Taylor Budowich, the Trump spokesman, said that the current Donald Trump legal team is made up of individuals such as Jim Trusty and Evan Corcoran who have "decades of prosecutorial experience and have litigated some of the most complex cases in American history." He added, "President Trump is represented by some of the strongest attorneys in the country, and any suggestion otherwise is only driven by envy.”
Facing multiple legal challenges this year, Donald Trump is attempting to build an unstoppable legal team. He currently faces an investigation in New York City to find out if the Trump Organization made violations with banking, tax laws, and insurance, and if the organization committed financial fraud. Criminal charges can be added to Donald Trump’s plate as the DOJ continues its investigation into the seized documents from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
