Donald Trump responds to Mitch McConnell's claims of a "Tough Task in Flipping the Majority for the GOP during Midterms"
Trump said the claim was “an affront to honor and to leadership.”
Donald Trump has taken the offensive against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell due to the subtle GOP criticism Mitch McConnell has given leading into the primaries. Trump said that Mitch McConnell should spend “more time and money helping Republican Senate candidates get elected and less time helping his crazy wife and family get rich in China.”
"Why do Republicans Senators allow a broken down hack politician, Mitch McConnell, to openly disparage hard-working Republican candidates for the United States Senate.”
Donald Trump said.
The bash from Trump comes after McConnell changed his mind on the supposed “Red Wave” coming to politics in November. He has since changed his claims, saying that the Republicans will face a tougher than the expected task of flipping the Senate majority. McConnell’s reasoning was “candidate quality.”
In highly contested states, Republicans aren’t keeping up, according to recent polling. One example is Mehmet Oz, who Donald Trump has endorsed, JD Vance, and Herschel Walker. The tension between Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell has been something growing ever since Trump’s loss in 2020 and McConnell’s acceptance of Joe Biden’s victory.
Mitch McConnell further claimed that Donald Trump was “practically and morally responsible” for the January 6th Capitol Riots. Trump responded to the criticism of McConnell and the Republicans running for Senate by claiming it was “an affront to honor and to leadership.”
