Maryland Primary will be Exciting
Marland provides one of the best opportunities that Democrats have to flip the governorship this year. The Democrats have been waiting to take control of Maryland for years. Governor Larry Hogan is now ending his term limit.
However, there is a lack of clarity about who will be representing the party come November. Primaries have been exhausting and have been highlighted by the failure of any candidate to really stand out from the nine-person pool. Not a single Democratic candidate has received more than a quarter of voters’ support, according to recent polling.
The Maryland primary will be one of the most interesting races to watch evolve…
Why doesn’t Dr. Oz have any Fundraising?
Mehmet Oz has finally admitted to the lackluster fundraising his campaign is doing and claims it is because Republicans mow their lawns and Democrats are clever. Dr. Oz is currently being out-raised by his Democratic opponent John Fetterman. Currently, Fetterman has raised nearly $10 Million while Dr. Oz has raised a measly $1.1 Million along with a loan he gave himself of $2.2 Million.
All in all, Fetterman currently has five times as much cash on hand to run a campaign…
Vladimir Putin set to Visit Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran
Today, Vladimir Putin will visit Tehran to meet with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This is the first trip outside of the former Soviet Union since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The visit comes as Vladimir Putin claims Russia is turning away from the West and is looking for partnerships with China, India, and Iran.
Also, the visit comes just days after President Biden returned home from a visit to Saudi Arabia in which a lot of the discussions surrounded a never-nuclear Iran.
The Continued Economic Downturn is highlighted in the Big Bank’s Earnings
Major banks have been releasing earnings reports over the last few days and nonetheless, they have shown companies are preparing for more negative turns in the economies. “Maximum Flexibility” was achieved as JPMorgan and Citigroup suspended their share buyback programs and yesterday, Goldman Sachs stated it would slow its hiring.
Also, banks have slowly but surely beefed up the allowances for loan losses…
Nancy Pelosi will visit Taiwan even as China warns it will “Severely Affect Relations”
Taiwan is said to be getting a visit from Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House of Representatives, next month as tensions escalate between the United States and China. She will also visit Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia on her Indo-Pacifici ventures.
However, China has indicated that such a visit would “severely affect Chinese-U.S. relations.”
