In New York’s 19th Congressional District race, Pat Ryan (D) defeated Marc Molinaro (R) in a race that many says can be an indication of how November’s midterms will turn out for the Democratic party. The clear indication, and the given reasoning for the victory, is the fact that Pat Ryan heavily invested his campaign in Abortion rights. Marc Molinaro on the other hand pushed his campaign based on crime and inflation.

Pat Ryan’s first ad was released just hours after the time the United States Supreme Court announced its decision to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade.

Election Officials and Election Workers Resigning after Wave of Harassment and Threats

In Nye County, Nevada, a pitch was given by a Secretary of State hopeful which called for the stoppage of using voting machines for general elections and using hand counting instead. Ever since the plea, Sam Merlino, a long-time county clerk, resigned from her position. According to her, the call to make the transition was the final strike as her county continued to push the narrative of a stolen election.

"It was just so disheartening after everyone had put in so much hard work, and then to have everybody question what we've been doing for years. I loved working with the voters, I was always at a polling place on Election Day. I loved the process,” Same Merlino, a registered Republican, said.

Multiple states have now seen attempts to disown election officials or attempts to change the voting system. Coming with the moves to do so is an unbearable level of harassment, threats, and misinformation. With three months until the November midterms, states such as Nevada, Texas, New Jersey, Arizona, and Colorado, have all seen a large number of election officials resign.

A Half of Americans Agree with Continued Support of Ukraine until “All Russian Forces have Withdrawn”

New polling has found that the majority of the United States agrees with helping Ukraine until all Russian forces have withdrawn. The poll finds that there is continued support for President Biden and his policies formulated to aid Ukraine. So far, the United States has provided a massive number of weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian military and is expected to announce another security package worth $3 Billion as early as tomorrow.

Of 1,005 people surveyed, 53% of them said they support the United States backing Ukraine “until all Russian forces are withdrawn.” 18%, however, have said that they are opposed to this form of aid.

A Senior Energy Trader says Gas Prices won’t stay Low too much Longer

According to a AAA report, United States gas prices have shed value for the last 70 days and now sit at a national average of $3.89. However, consumers shouldn’t believe that this streak will last. Rebecca Babin, a Senior Energy Trader at CIBC, said that prices will move higher again, especially when fall and winter weather kicks in.

“Even if demand dips [for gasoline], supply will dip with it, and I don’t see a significant pullback. If anything, I think that gasoline prices on the national average will probably rise from here,” Rebecca Babin said.

Kevin McCarthy, the United States House Minority Leader, has been a big advocate for Donald Trump and has endlessly defended Trump. However, he may have slipped up in accidentally insulting him. McCarthy said, “I just have one rule of thumb: I really don’t trust anyone that keeps a mural of themselves in their office.”

Now, it isn’t something that was probably directly meant for Donald Trump, but he holds a massive portrait of himself in not only his Mar-a-Lago resort but also on the walls of his New York City office. Portraits and him, magazine covers he’s been featured on, and even in his new presidential office, he has a small Donald Trump statue.

The comments come as Kevin McCarthy was intending to bash Dr. Fauci. However, still funny for a humpday. “I just think those types of individuals should have to come and answer the questions,” McCarthy added.
