Ex-Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren files Lawsuit against Ron DeSantis
In general, Warren has positioned himself in a comfortable position of “fighting in the defense of Democracy.”
The former Hillsborough County Attorney Andrew Warren has filed a federal lawsuit against Ron DeSantis two weeks after being suspended from his public office. Andrew Warren’s defense was citing of free speech and prosecutorial discretion. The lawsuit specifically says that the courts get to say what the state Constitution means and “not whatever DeSantis needs it to mean to silence his critics, promote his loyalists, and subvert the will of the voters.”
“The bottom line is everyone should follow the law, even the governor. We’re going to ask a court to make sure that happens.”
Andrew Warren’s lawyer added.
“In our country, there are protections for freedom and limits on power. Ron DeSantis may not like them. He may not respect them. But he does have to follow them. By challenging this illegal abuse of power, we make sure that no governor can toss out the results of an election because he doesn’t like the outcome.”
Andrew Warren said.
In general, Warren has positioned himself in a comfortable position of “fighting in the defense of Democracy.” He continued by saying that Ron DeSantis is subverting hundreds of thousands of people who live in Hillsborough County who originally voted Andrew Warren in as their state attorney.
