Timothy Thibault, an FBI assistant special agent, reportedly resigned after being accused of attempting to stop a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden. Thibault has already been on leave since Christopher Wray, the FBI director, claimed the allegations against Timothy Thibault were “deeply troubling.” Brian Auten, an FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst, was also thrown in the mix of allegations.
Senator Chuck Grassley wrote that he believed the two former FBI employees worked to “scheme and undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.” Senator Grassley continues to say that Thibault had attempted to shut down the criminal probe in 2020 as well.
“Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required by FBI guidelines … [and] subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future.
In October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the direction of ASAC Thibault… [when] all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants.”
Senator Chuck Grassley said.
Other GOP members have claimed that Thibault was motivated by political bias, but of a malicious sense, as they cited his social media history and his claims that Donald Trump was “a psychologically broken, embittered, and deeply unhappy man.”
More of Hunter Biden’s story continues to develop. Last week, on a Joe Rogan podcast, Mark Zuckerberg admitted that Facebook has blocked the stories of Hunter Biden’s laptop previous to the 2020 election.
“The distribution of the bombshell report was limited on the social media platform for five or seven days when the laptop was still being authenticated, leading to a situation in which fewer people saw it than would have otherwise.”
