When the trucker convoy that has recently made its way across the United States with the idea to protest Covid health measures and other government mandates met a roadblock in Oakland. The truckers were met by individuals throwing eggs at the group.

A video posted to YouTube shows a barrage of the rigs and smaller vehicles just blaring their horns through a quiet residential street in the neighborhood of Rockridge in Oakland, California. The truckers were protesting an abortion rights bill proposed by Buffy Wick, a Democratic Assembly Member living in the East Bay neighborhood.

Residents shouted at the truckers to get out of town as they launched eggs hitting some of the truckers with their windows down. In one instance, a trucker hopped out of his truck and stormed up to a resident throwing eggs. The trucker proceeded to scream in her face.

For those who don’t know, the “People’s Convoy” was founded by a group of Truckers in February to call for the end of Covid mandates made across the country. Most restrictions have been eased since its founding, but the group feels the need to continue protesting on the basis of civil rights.

In the midst of all their controversy, their backing seems to be prevalent as their website indicates the group raised nearly $1.9 Million in donations backing their efforts of protest.
