How would an Outspoken Democratic Presidential Candidate be Received?
Think Piece/Open Discussion
Throughout the Democratic voter polls, the biggest problem discussed in terms of Biden is the fact that he is not exerting the energetic or outspoken efforts many would like to see in regards to his messaging or confronting of the GOP. Many voters have indicated their wish for such a candidate. However, how exactly would a candidate like this be realistically received by Democrats? Is it even likely somebody could run like so and receive the Democratic nomination?
A large number of the said voters will only ever vote for one party, theoretically. Therefore, in order to win an election, you would need a candidate to provide one of the following, or even both:
Convince the swing voters to vote for them and their party.
Energize the supporters they already have to drive them to the polling booth.
In actuality, a candidate should only be focusing on such a small percentage of the voting public, not a whole. If you’re really concerned only about those two small groups mentioned above specifically in swing states, you’ll have a greater chance.
So yes, outspoken may be a good thing, but those candidates would need to be very careful about what they’re outspoken on.
