Chinese aircraft and warships have been detected taking part in military drills around the Taiwan Strait today, according to the Taiwan government. They warned these drills could possible stimulated attacks against the island.

"Our military has broadcast warnings, deployed combat air patrol and naval vessels, and activated land-based missile systems in response to the situation.”
The Taiwan Defense Ministry said.

By the evening in Taiwan, nearly 14 ships and 20 plans had been detected around the Strait. The news comes after multiple other military drills being conducted by China around Taiwan since United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the country which China claims as its own.

Yesterday, it was reported that nearly 70 Chinese planes were detected in the Taiwan Strait and of those, nearly 50 entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone. 19 planes crossed the median line dividing the Taiwan Strait. On Thursday, the Chinese military launched 11 ballistic missiles that landed in Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone which then prompted Japan to lodge a formal complaint with China.
