Majority of Americans Disapprove of the Overturning of Roe v. Wade, according to new Polling
However, it isn't as big of a margin as some would hope/expect...
According to a newly released CBS News and YouGov poll, nearly 60% of Americans disapprove of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Among the women polled individually, 67% disapproved.
Surveys, before the decision was made, concluded similar findings. 52% call the Supreme Court’s decision a step backward for Americans, 31% claim it is somehow a step forward, and 17% say neither step forward or back.
Across the political spectrum, the opinion is heavily divided. Republican participants approve of the decision (78%) while Independents and Democrats completely disagree (38% and 17% respectively).
57% of Americans believe it is likely that same-sex marriage rights are next to be limited and 55% claim birth control access will also be the next step backward in limitations.
