Marco Rubio and Pete Buttigieg go Back and Forth
Marco Rubio took to Twitter to respond to Buttigieg's criticisms on CNN...
Pete Buttigieg, the Transportation Secretary, and Senator Marco Rubio have shared a back n forth after Rubio was called out by Buttigieg for calling the Respect for Marriage bill a “stupid waste of time.” In a minute-long video on Twitter, Marco Rubio claimed Pete Buttigieg is a “Harvard-educated Transportation Secretary who doesn’t know that the difference between state and federal levels.”
“I’ll give you a real problem. We have a Transportation secretary named Pete Buttigieg, who believes that highways can be racist. Who believes that $5 gas. which is killing working Americans, is a great thing, because that means people are going to drive less or because everyone’s going to go out and buy a $65,000 electric car with a Chinese battery in it.”
Marco Rubio said.
Rubio also went on to claim that the Democrats are “dictated by a bunch of affluent elite liberals and a bunch of Marxist misfits who sadly today control the agenda of the modern Democratic party.” The remarks/response came just hours after Pete Buttigieg went to CNN to say he doesn’t understand why Marco Rubio wouldn’t have the time to help safeguard same-sex marriages while having the time to fight against Disney.
Pete Buttigieg is the first openly LGBTQ+ secretary approved by the Senate who criticized Marco Rubio following the vote for the Respect Marriage Act that would codify same-sex marriage due to the Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ concurring opinion in which he said the court must revisit rulings such as the same-sex ruling.
