Maryland Apple Employees become the First Group to Vote to join a Union
It seems as if unionization is an unstoppable and common trend in the labor force...
Maryland Apple employees have voted to join a union. This makes the group the first retail employees of Apple to unionize in the United States.
The union said on its website that 100+ employees in Towson, Maryland "have overwhelmingly voted to join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers."
"This is something we do not to go against or create conflict with our management. We have the support of a solid majority of our coworkers.”
The group members wrote to Tim Cook, Apple CEO.
It seems as if unionization is the common trend in the labor force as many large corporations, such as Amazon and Starbucks, have also seen their own debacle surrounding unionization. Apple workers in Atlanta withdrew their unionization efforts last month.
