Michael Fanone, a former D.C. police officer who was assaulted by the rioters on January 6th was once again in the mix of harassment by protestors as he was seen leaving the House Select Committee hearing last night. Various Twitter videos show a group following the former officer as they threw questions and remarks such as “Are you even a real police officer?”
Last year, Michael Fanone left his job as an officer and now works for CNN after experiencing a heart attack during the January 6th Capitol Riots on top of being beaten and trampled. The video shows Michael Fanone also shows an unlikely hero of a man with a banner of Trump that reads “toxic loser” pushing protestors away from Michael Fanone.
As of now, two men have been found guilty of assaulting Michael Fanone during the Capitol Riots and face penalties. One faces eight years in prison while the other faces 3 to 6 years.
