The legislation proposed would boost federal investment in emerging technologies such as computer chips. For that reason, Joe Manchin added that it is “so wrong,” of Mitch McConnell to threaten the things he has.

"Party-line scheming is going to crowd that out. Our side cannot agree to frantically steamroll through bipartisan talks in order to meet an artificial timeline, so our Democrat colleagues can clear the decks to ram through a party-line tax hike."

The China bill was threatened as Democrats made progress towards a deal with Joe Manchin on a scaled-down clime and tax economic spending package. It has been months now of negotiations between Republicans and Democrats. One of the most important speaking parts of the bill is the push to bring semiconductor manufacturing back to the United States which would loosen our dependency on China.
