More United States Lawmakers will Visit Taiwan along with a Five Person French Delegation

As tensions continue to stay high between the west and China due to the unwelcome visits to Taiwan, another wave of lawmakers from the United States Congress as well as five French lawmakers will make their way to Taiwan. The French set of lawmakers will be the first visit from any high-level Europeans. For the United States, this will continue the trend of trips by officials which has angered the Chinese government.
The United States cross-party delegation will be led by Senator Cyril Pellevat and the French delegation will be sent to visit William Lai, the Vice President of Taiwan. Stephanie Murphy of Florida will arrive with the French delegation tomorrow and stay until the weekend. Other U.S. lawmakers will join, such as Kaiali’i Kahele, Scott Franklin, Joe Wilson, Darrell Issa, Claudia Tenney, Kat Cammack, and Andy Barr.
According to sources, later this year, lawmakers from Germany, Britain, and Canada are expected to visit the island.
