New Poll Finds 6 in 10 Americans say Trump should be Charged for his Involvement in the January 6th Capitol Riots

After the first week of hearings have concluded for the investigation into the January 6th Capitol Riots, a newly released poll indicates that 6 in 10 Americans believe Donald Trump should be charged for his involvement in the incident.
According to the new ABC News and Ipsos Poll, 6 in 10 Americans also believe the committee is conducting a fair investigation. Within the poll, conducted by Ipsos’ Knowledge Panel, 58% of Americans believe Trump should be charged for a crime surrounding his involvement in the riots.
In following of the poll, an ABC News/Wshington post poll asked similar questions and found that 54% of Americans though Trump should be charged with the crime of inciting a riot. Within the same poll, 58% of Americans think trump bears a great deal of responsibility for the Attack on the Captiol. In Decemeber 2021, the consensus was the exact same.
91% of Democrats believe Trump should be charged compared to a measly 19% of Republicans. Concerning how much of a deal Trump should bear, 91% of Democrats also agree to this compare to 21% of the Republicans polled. Independents who took part in the poll also believe Trump should be charged (62%). 61% of the Independents also stated Trump bears a great deal of responsibility.
