Peter Navarro turns to Crowdfunding to pay his Legal Fees
A bold move has raised Peter Navarro nearly $150,000 so far...
Peter Navarro, the former Trump advisor, is currently fundraising online to pay for his upcoming court battles. He tweeted yesterday that he hoped his supporters can visit his fundraising site which he describes as having “a cool URL.” He wrote, "Trying to get over the $150K threshold and you can help make that difference. This will likely be a million-dollar defense by the time it is all over.”
In June, Peter Navarro was charged with contempt of Congress after illegally defying a subpoena to turn over information surrounding the January 6th Capitol riots. Navarro also claimed he was put in handcuffs and “leg irons” when he was arrested at the Nashville Airport in June.
When it came to hiring lawyers, Peter Navarro stated he was facing “a number of hurdles” and he indicated during a court appearance that he might represent himself. He said, "I don't want to spend my retirement savings on lawyers."
The fundraising page for his legal defense fund has raised nearly $150,000 and was less than $2,000 shy of the initial goal. Navarro has since set his sights on $250,000 in fundraising. Those who donate will receive a free copy of his book “Taking Back Trump’s America” with his signature.
