Florida continues its run of stupidity and the party of free speech strikes again. Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a bill that states protests in front of a private residence in Florida can result in jail time and fines. The legislation makes it a second-degree misdemeanor to protest in a manner that is aimed to harass or disturb an individual in their home.

Those who protest, or go against the bill, can face up to 60 days in jail and receive fines up to $500. Arrests can only be done after a protestor ignores law enforcement’s orders to leave the premises.

DeSantis claims the bill will help Florida avoid situations witnessed at the homes of the Supreme Court Justices over the leaked abortion draft opinions.

“Sending unruly mobs to private residences, as we have seen with the angry crowds in front of the homes of Supreme Court justices, is inappropriate. This bill will provide protection to those living in residential communities and I am glad to sign it into law.”

Doesn’t this bill go against the First Amendment? Isn’t this something that the Republican party would generally be against? Ron DeSantis is truly a bootlicker. He is also a Republican who pretends to be a Libertarian all while making these unfair and unlawful laws… An idiot…

The law is scheduled to take effect on October 1st.
