Russia claims Latvia's Resolution is Purely "Xenophobia"
The resolution would consider Russia a state sponsor of terrorism...
A resolution by Latvia’s parliament designating Russia as a “state sponsor of terrorism” has since been condemned by Russian officials today.
"Considering that there is no substance, except for animalistic xenophobia, behind this decision, it is necessary to call the ideologues nothing more than neo-Nazis.”
Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, said.
Latvia’s resolution stated, "Latvia recognizes Russia's actions in Ukraine as targeted genocide against the Ukrainian people.” It also called for more militarization against Russia as well as more humanitarian, financial, and diplomatic backing for the Ukrainian government and its people.
Russia claims it sent the military to invade Ukraine strictly to “denazify” the country supposedly “ruled by neo-Nazis.” Russia has also thrown the term to those who criticized the “military operation.”
The use of propaganda using the word has been dismissed by Ukraine and the West. The use of the word is used to justify the war by linking Ukrainian government functions to that of Nazy Germany.
