We all know we need more ways to make money and it seems Telegram has recently discovered this as well. Telegram Premium is in the works and a beta version of the service has given hints at what users should expect. Code for the upcoming version has seen a drop of their tagline "Telegram is free forever. No ads. No subscription fees."
According to Alessandro Paluzzi, a mobile developer and leaker, has shown us a look at the same page which held the tagline. It now reads "Telegram provides free unlimited cloud storage for chats and media." No wording as to what subscriptions will be is said precisely, but we know this is likely due to the existence of Telegram Premium.
There is no indication as to when the new wording was enacted. Since late 2020, we have known Telegram would transfer to a premium service to monetize the app. Details from the iOS beta of the app earlier this month showed that feature will be available.
The service will give you a star badge to confirm you are a Premium member at the top of your chats and on your profile. It seems the service doesn't provide much extra for your subscription, although we don't currently know how much this is set to cost.
