The average ground temperatures in China have risen relatively faster than that of the global average for going on 70 years now. Temperatures will remain higher in the future as well. On the date for China’s annual climate assessment publication, the country’s weather bureau indicated the country is "a sensitive region in global climate change,” with reported temperatures rising nearly 0.47 Degrees Fahrenheit a decade since 1951. The global average is 0.15 degrees.

"In the future, the increase in regional average temperatures in China will be significantly higher than the world.”

Yuan Jiashuang, the vice-director of China's National Climate Center, said.

Chinese officials have also warned that the changing weather patterns in China will ultimately affect the balancing of water resources and making ecosystems vulnerable and reducing crop yields. The weather has been ridiculous the past week throughout the week with heatwaves causing droughts and forest fires across the world.

"No nation is immune from climate change and said the world now had to choose between collective action or collective suicide.”

Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, said.

Temperatures in China specifically have recently hit 111F in the southwestern Yunnan region and the Hebei region in the North. Hundreds of Chinese weather stations have recorded temperatures exceeding historical highs.

In 2021 when China gave its annual climate assessment, the country warned that its coastal water levels were at their highest since 1980. Glacial retreat has accelerated and active permafrost along major highways has reached record highs. Also in 2021, China has reported an increase in vegetation cover of 7.9%.
