Donald Trump, on the day of the first congressional hearing investigating the January 6th Capitol attack, stated that the riots "were not simply a protest, it represented the greatest movement in the history of our Country to Make America Great Again."
Are you serious or joking?
Of course, the announcement of his opinion was made on Truth Social which he published just before the televised hearings. He also referred to the panel as an “unselect committee” and also, again, claimed the election was rigged. The election rigging thing, in my opinion, is a very weak argument if we look statistically. Trump’s victory in 2016 wasn’t that much larger and George W. Bush in 2004 had an election that was much closer and debatable…
On the flip side, President Biden had some comments on the Capitol attack hearings. During a meeting with Justin Trudeau, Biden claimed the assault on the Capitol was "a flagrant violation of the Constitution. I think these guys and women broke the law, tried to turn around the result of an election. There are a lot of questions, who's responsible, who's involved. I'm not going to make a judgement on that."
