TikTok Worldwide Ad Revenue Surges

TikTok's ad revenue is likely to triple in 2022 to more than $11 Billion which would exceed the combined sales of Twitter and Snapchat, according to research firm Insider Intelligence.

"TikTok's user base has exploded in the past couple of years, and the amount of time users spend on the app is extraordinary," said Debra Aho Williamson, an analyst at Insider Intelligence. Twitter and Snapchat are expected to generate $5.58 Billion and $4.86 Billion respectively.

The 25 Wealthiest People in America Paid a Lower Tax Rate than Someone Earning $45,000

ProPublica has released a report that explains how much the top 400 wealthiest people in America paid in taxes.

They find that the highest-earning Americans don't pay the highest income tax rates. The top 400 wealthiest individuals pay an income tax rate of 22%, while people earning $2 Million to $5 Million pay 29% in income tax. That's because these people don't get the majority of their income from a paycheck. In reality, their wealth comes from the assets they own.

Grand Rapids Police Release Video of Officer Fatally Shooting Unarmed Black Man

A New York Times report claims while the victim in the shooting was unarmed, a video showed the two men wrestling for control of the officer's taser before the young man, 26-year-old Patrick Lyoya, was fatally shot in the head.

The shooting has been a major local story even before the release of the footage. The New York Times claims it has exposed some "longstanding tensions in Grand Rapids" (as these types of officer-involved shootings have a habit of doing).

Tesla Opens up Roadster Reservations

Tesla has reopened their reservations for the Tesla Roadster. The car is to be produced at the recently opened Giga Texas from next year. The only thing that remains unclear is exactly what customers will have to pay in the end but customers will need to provide two down payments: $5,000 due directly at the ordering phase and $45,000 must be paid within 10 days.

“Reservations are only valid after we have received the bank transfer,” says Tesla.
