The Kremlin warns that Russia will never Trust the West Again

A Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told NBC News that Russia would never trust the West again. The comment comes during a time of historic severing of relations between Russia, its allies, and the western world. Many sources also indicate that Dmitry Peskov is not the only top Russian official ruling out a return to normal.
Peskov said that the fallout over the Ukraine conflict would be a long crisis and he also predicted relations will be scarred for good.
According to Peskov during his interview, two American citizens have been captured fighting for Ukraine in Donbas and are being considered by Moscow to be “soldiers of fortune,” and will have their fates decided by “a court decision.” A Donetsk People’s Republic Court in Donetsk found three foreign fighters guilty of attempting to seize power by forced and ultimately sentenced them to death. The fate of the American soldiers seems to be headed that way as well.
As mentioned, Peskov is not the first, nor is he the only Russian official to claim there will be no return to diplomacy with the West. The former president of Russia and current deputy chair of the Russian National Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, suggested Moscow should never again push for an extension of nuclear arms reduction treaties with America.
“We don’t have any relationship with the US at the moment. They are at zero degrees Kelvin. And we should not unfreeze them for now. Let them come or crawl and beg for it. And they should value it as an act of utmost generosity.”
Dmitry Medvedev wrote.
It’s no surprise that many Russian officials are pushing for the permanent severance of ties with the West as, since the invasion of Ukraine, many of the Western allies have sent tens of billions of dollars in military aid to Kyiv while targeting Russia with economic sanctions.
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared last week that the world order has been fundamentally changed, with the old, U.S.-dominated system never to return.
“It is a mistake to suggest that the times of turbulent changes can be waited out and that things will return to normal; that everything will be as it was. It won’t.”
