"The President Reportedly Agreed That a Mob Should Kill the Vice President” is somehow just a sidelined story... How?
Politico did a MAJOR story on it, yet it isn’t in the top five most-read on their site...
So, we all remember the January 6th Capitol Riots, right? We remember that Vice President Mike Pence had to be taken into hiding by the Secret Service, right? We remember Trump’s tweet attacking Pence by upholding the responsibility to certify the results of the presidential election in a joint session of Congress, right?
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”
Trump wrote in his tweet.
One of the more concerning details which emerged later is that some people in the mob that forced their way into the Capitol said they were looking for Pence directly. Scarier than that - they were also taking part in a chant of “Hang Mike Pence.” Since this, Trumper has defended the behavior and according to a testimony given to the House’s January 6th committee, he too approved of the idea.
The White House chief of staff at the time, Mark Meadows, was in the dining room off the Oval Office with Trump at one point during last year’s Capitol attack, the committee has been told. Meadows then left the dining room and informed other people nearby that Trump had signaled a positive view of the prospect of hanging the vice president, the panel heard.
According to reports from Politico.
This isn’t enough to clearly say exactly how much thought and specificity Trump has placed into his comments. Anybody suggesting anything to Trump just gets told he will be “strongly looking into” it.
However you take it, and whichever side of the political spectrum you sit on, it’s just messed up. Another thing that messed up is the fact that Politico did a MAJOR story on it, yet it isn’t in the top five most-read on their site… Brings me to question what is really important news…
