The Unexpected Rise in Antisemitism and Anti-Zionism may not be Abnormal but a "Return to Normal"
The sad truth of endless historical occurrences of antisemitism and anti-zionism...
Historically speaking, antisemitism has run rampant. There was a short period of time where a looming sense of sympathy for Jews and for the idea of Zionism outweighed the hatred. However, it may have just been that, an abnormally short period. Antisemitism and anti-Zionism may not be what we perceive as new and rare development. It may not be a consequence of the bad PR Jews are receiving in Israel and other parts of the world. What it may be, and most likely is, is signaling the return to the average historical levels of antisemitism…
No matter which way you look at it, this was all inevitable. The fact of the matter is that Israel has for all intents and purposes prevailed over countless adversaries in the Middle East. What happens next when a group cannot achieve what they plan to do? They take it out on those in the diaspora. College campuses and unions have witnessed the passing of “apartheid” and “BDS” resolutions. There have been deliberate marches taken into Jewish neighborhoods and businesses while screaming “free Palestine.”
If an antisemite cannot tangibly harm Israel, they will indulge in the next best thing: Harassing and abusing pro-Israel Jews outside of Israel.
Hasn’t anybody ever wondered why there has been so much hatred against Jews all over the world since G-d knows when? Jews have been endlessly used as scapegoats in countries during bad times. Jews were forced to new countries countless times. While in a new country, within 200 years, something bad happens, and all of a sudden it turns into "it must have been the Jews! Just like in other countries!"
The more secure, accepted, and strong Israel is in the Middle East, the more its adversaries in the West are enraged. So hold firm, stand strong, and recognize this wave of antisemitism for what it is; the seething rage of an adversary to whom the very existence of a strong Jewish nation is a daily cause for angst. The very existence of Israel is a testament to their failures despite decades of war and attempted isolation…
