There may be more January 6th Hearings on the Horizon than Expected
Both Adam Kinzinger and Zoe Lofgren hint at further testimonies...
Many have speculated that the “primetime” hearing coming up this Thursday would/could be the last hearing held by the January 6th House Committee. However, Adam Kinzinger and Zoe Lofgren both indicated that there may be more hearings to come.
“This investigation is not winding down. We may be towards the end of this tranche of hearings, [but] we may have more hearings in the future and the investigation is still ongoing.”
Adam Kinzinger said.
Zoe Lofgren also told reporters that “This investigation is very much ongoing. The fact that this series of hearings are going to be concluded Thursday doesn’t mean that our investigation is over. It’s very active. New witnesses are coming forward. Additional information is coming forward. There are things that we are looking at still.”
Both of the representatives hinted at the possibility of there being another hearing in the fall when the committee’s findings will be released. When asked if the committee’s hearings would conclude around the time of midterms, Zoe Lofgren said, “I can’t say for sure. It depends on what comes in, Frankly, if the president’s supporters had not engaged in frivolous litigation for months on end, we would be farther along.”
This Tuesday is the target date to get a hearing in for the Secret Service members who were caught deleting text messages leading up to the January 6th Capitol Riot. Members of the committee are further looking into the possibility of hosting an interview with former Vice President Mike Pence or even former President Donald Trump.
