The Russian military and their claims of being able to capture the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv in just three days are now being mocked throughout Ukraine as officials publicly displayed destroyed enemy armor. According to officials with confirmation from a Ukrainian news source, the Russians were planning a military parade in Kyiv even Russian officers had prepared formal uniforms for the event.

Celebrating Ukrainian Independence Day on August 24th, the Ukrainian government has displayed dozens of the captured Russian tanks and other military vehicles. Families spent their day inspecting the machines and children used them as a playground. Ukraine’s Defense Ministry stated it is "a reminder to all dictators how their plans may be ruined by a free and courageous nation."

Oleksii Reznikov, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, said "The aggressors dreamt of capturing Kyiv in 3 days. The occupiers intended to hold a parade in our capital. They’re now in the city as scrap metal.”
