Ukraine Topples Bridges near Kherson and Volodymyr Zelenskyy warns Russian Troops Attacking from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
The power plant is Europe’s largest and was captured early in the war. Russia has blamed the Ukrainian forces for bombing the plant.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russian military groups firing from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant will become their own “special target” for Ukrainian forces to pursue.
"Every Russian soldier who either shoots at the plant or shoots using the plant as cover must understand that he becomes a special target for our intelligence agents, for our special services, for our army.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The power plant is Europe’s largest and was captured early in the war. Russia has blamed the Ukrainian forces for bombing the plant. As the battle over the plant continues, further south, the Ukrainian military has struck down the last usable bridge near Kherson which crosses the Dnipro River.
“Without the bridges, Russian forces occupying Kherson no longer have any capability to turn over their equipment fully.”
Serhiy Khlan, the deputy to the Kherson Regional Council, said.
While researching the loss of the bridges and its effects, the Study of War claims that “losing those bridges would likely leave the Russians unable to defend themselves against even limited Ukrainian counterattacks." The bridges were destroyed as a counteroffensive aiming to retake Kherson.
