A warning has been given by the United States State Department due to the increasing threats of Russian strikes on Ukraine during their Independence Day on August 24th. Americans who are currently staying in Ukraine have been urged to leave the country. The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, is setting itself up for said Russian attacks. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the attacks could be “particularly nasty.” He also stated that the Ukrainian military would respond heavily if the attacks were to occur.
The United Nations added to the calls of emergency by saying tensions have been rising outside of it is Ukraine’s Independence Day this week after Russia and Ukraine have been trading accusations concerning the situation at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Demilitarization has been called for in the location as the world currently faces “maximum danger,” according to the U.N.
