Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine’s Military Chief, warned that the threat of Russia using nuclear weapons against Ukraine is “a growing concern.” Co-authored by Mykhailo Zabrodskyi, an article was released that detailed the Ukrainian commander-in-Chief’s assessment of Russia’s invasion. It also gave a deep dive into contradicting messaging previously heard from other Ukrainian officials.
"There is a direct threat of the use, under certain circumstances, of tactical nuclear weapons by the Russian Armed forces. It is also impossible to completely rule out the possibility of the direct involvement of the world's leading countries in a 'limited' nuclear conflict, in which the prospect of World War Three is already directly visible.”
Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said.
Even as Zaluzhnyi warns of the possibility, Russia has denied the potential use of nuclear weapons since launching its invasion of Ukraine. The only hints given to the possibility of use is if another country were to threaten or attempt to use them on them.
