Video Footage Shows Senator Hawley Displaying a Fist in Solidarity with Capitol Protestors then Minutes Later Running from them as they turned Rioters
As the House Select Committee presented their prime-time testimony, video footage has surfaced of Josh Hawley running from rioters...
As Senator Josh Hawley walked his way into the Capitol on January 6th, he was photographed via surveillance raising a fist in solidarity with the Trump loyalist who gathered outside of the security gates before rushing the building.
Then, shortly after, more surveillance video was shown by the House Select Committee which showed Senator Hawley running down the hall of the Capitol as the rioters began to pour into the building. He was also shown walking stiffly down the steps with his colleagues as they were evacuated shortly after.
Even as he feared for his life, as it seems, Senator Hawley was later to be one of eight GOP Senators who voted in favor of attempting to overturn the Pennsylvania results as well as one of seven Senators voting in favor to overturn the results in Arizona. In total, 147 Republicans voted against Biden’s confirmation which was the beginning of Trump’s claim of a “stolen” election.
For his actions on the fateful day of January 6th, Senator Josh Hawley has been heavily ridiculed. He has been disowned by his mentor, former Senator John Danforth, and even pushed Danforth to say “Supporting Hawley has been the biggest mistake I’ve ever made.” Senator Hawley said, “I will never apologize for giving voice to the millions of Missourians and Americans who have concerns about the integrity of our elections. That’s my job, and I will keep doing it.” From there, he raised massive amounts of money for standing by his actions.
