What do we know of the Mar-a-Lago Debacle now?
After the FBI and DOJ released the redacted affidavit, what do we now know?
The redacted version of the much-awaited affidavit used to receive a search warrant to raid Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home was released today. Such a release comes just one day after Judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the unsealing. Reinhart is the judge who originally passed through the approval for the search warrant in the first place.
Multiple newsgroups have also filed motions for the revealing of the affidavit. The DOJ and the FBI decided ultimately to block out a lot of information to not reveal any identities of citizen witnesses, law enforcement, and anything interrupting the ongoing Trump investigation.
However, this is what we know so far:
Heavy redactions were needed to protect the “multiple” and “significant number of civilian witnesses.”
Donald Trump complained about the redactions and complained of the move made by Judge Bruce Reinhart.
Probably cause was presented to believe the evidence of obstruction was available and would be found.
The FBI confirmed finding nearly 100+ classified documents.
The FBI did not find Mar-a-Lago to be a “safe place.”
