What does the Unsealing of the DOJ's Mar-a-Lago Search Warrant Reveal of the DOJ's Objectives and the GOP's Claim of Political Persecution?
Think Piece/Open Discussion
A statement was released today by Merrick Garland, the United States Attorney General, defending the integrity of the DOJ and the FBI as well as confirming he has signed off on the search warrant used in the raiding of the as well as a judge. The statement also indicates that the Department of Justice will be moving to unseal the search warrant and receipt to offer greater transparency into the DOJ’s and the FBI’s legal rationale.
The FBI’s search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home has been criticized by Trump himself as well as many other Republicans stating it was a politically motivated event. He made his own actions a felony which in turn shows what justice looks like — politics don’t play a part. I believe people need to look at how disingenuous the argument from the Republicans is, and I hope it changes their perspective a bit.
